No. Simpson Security will not know whether your phone line is working unless you have a Cellular Backup Device. A Cellular Backup Device will allow your system to keep communicating with our monitoring station when you primary phone line fails. If the Smoke Detector is beeping, Simpson Security did not install it and it is not part of the Monitored Security System. It is most likely a 110VAC Smoke Detector with battery backup that was installed by the Electrical Contractor and is now beeping because of a low 9VDC battery. You can replace the battery or contact us and we will replace it for a small fee. The fee will include the cost of the battery and cost of the service.
